In a high-tech society, it seems that cell phone is thought of means by exercising freedom. However, I don't agree with this because, no matter what I'm doing, it is possible for me to be disturbed by those who expect me to answer in any time, and by noise in public place.
To begin with, Generally speaking people expect others to be available at all times. People usually have this experience. Ringing of the cell phone disturb one's sleep at night. Even though sometimes it is very annoying to answer, those who call the cell phone could not expect whether they are sleeping, studying, working, and playing. To take example, sales man usually get stressed out due to the fact that they cannot help but hold the cell phone 24/7. Even so they should answer the phone when they eat. As a result they rarely have a private time quietly.
What's more, noise with someone's cell phone in public place hinders one's relax time. We sometimes go to the cafe and park for being in a serene atmosphere, but the ringing of the cell phone makes people frown at. Another thing is that someone talks to the phone so loudly. It not only prevents one's free time but makes other people to hear their private talk. For example, when I did part time at a cafe, most of the worst things I saw is that two people were fighting for loud talk on the phone. At that time, I realize that noise can cause an undesirable situation.
To sum up, I disagree that Mobile phones have liberated people. Because people may be disturbed by calling at expected time, and noise with cell phone can prevent someone from getting free time. I think mobile phone is double-edged sword. In other words it can cause bad things, and it improves the quality of life by keeping touch with friends and family.
